Recovery in Mind Since 2015
Established in 2015, Recovery and Wellness Center of Eastern Washington is the area’s first treatment facility that provides Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs for the treatment of Eating Disorders. It remains the only treatment center with this level of care in a 250-mile radius. In addition to our Eating Disorder programs, we provide some of the only Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient group therapy programs for depression and anxiety in the area.
All programs utilize a therapeutic, evidence-based curriculum containing lessons that are Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy based. Our experienced Medical Providers, Licensed Therapists and Social Workers, and Registered Dietitians partner with our patients to create an individualized treatment plan focused on recovery.
The individual hired with be crossed trained to work in all programs. As part of the treatment team, the candidates will provide the following, including but not limited to;
Perform intake assessments, psychosocial assessments, diagnosis, treatment and crisis intervention of members with psychiatric disorders including but not limited to eating disorders, depression and anxiety.
Develop and coordinate a clinical treatment plan for assigned patients, present weekly progress and struggles during treatment team, and develop appropriate discharge planning.
Consult with other professional providers, as part of a multidisciplinary team, to provide appropriate treatment for the patient.
Demonstrate ability to provide comprehensive and ongoing assessment resulting in appropriate treatment recommendations.
Create an individualized treatment plan with specific and measurable goals.
Be responsible for Clinical Reviews, Utilization Reviews and work closely with the team to accomplish insurance authorizations for services.
Continually monitor progress and re-evaluate appropriateness of goals, resetting as appropriate.
Demonstrate knowledge of and practice of clinical interviewing/counseling skills.
Demonstrate ability to build therapeutic rapport.
Encourage reluctant and/or resistant patients and/or family members to stay in program and build motivation.
Provide case management for each assigned case, demonstrating ability to facilitate and/or ensure the whole of patient care.
Integrate all aspects of care and ease the process of treatment for the patient.
Facilitate groups with expertise, demonstrating ability to engage, set limits and monitor the group process.
Provide weekly individual and family sessions, group counseling, education and meetings as assigned.
Chart patient's treatment and progress in accordance with state regulations and department procedures and facilitate ancillary services/community referrals.
Interpret psychiatric treatment to appropriate supports and help to reduce fear and other attitudes obstructing acceptance of psychiatric care and continuation of treatment.
Be creative in therapeutic interventions to include homework assignments, community resources, etc.
Complete clinical paperwork, progress notes, and group notes in a timely and accurate fashion.
Demonstrate leadership in assuring continuity and quality of intensive outpatient program, including curriculum development and group implementation.
Attention to discharge plan, development of aftercare plan, transition sessions with out patient treatment providers (if applicable), and patient’s knowledge of available resources.
Complete thorough discharge summaries that reflect course of treatment and discharge recommendations
Effectively and consistently communicate to referral sources
Maintain regular contact with families, outside clinicians, referring parties, and report safety concerns to mandated reporting agencies
Participate in in-service training and individual/group supervision

RWC is seeking a Behavioral Health Program Counselor to join our growing clinical team.
This position will play an important role in the day-to-day operation of our PHP and IOP programs, with a primary focus on leading and supporting therapeutic, psychoeducational, and skills-based groups.
The ideal candidate is someone who is confident facilitating groups, enjoys working closely with clients, and can create a structured, engaging, and supportive therapeutic environment.
The Program Counselor will be cross-trained across RWC programs and may work with clients experiencing eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and other behavioral health concerns. The position will collaborate closely with therapists, psychiatric and medical providers, dietitians, leadership, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys group programming, relationship-building, teamwork, and working in a higher level of care environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesGroup Facilitation & Program Support
Lead and co-facilitate therapeutic, psychoeducational, process, and skills-based groups within RWC’s PHP and IOP programs.
Follow established group curricula while adapting group activities and interventions to meet client needs.
Create a safe, structured, engaging, and supportive group environment.
Support clients in developing and practicing coping skills, emotional regulation, communication, interpersonal, and other recovery-oriented skills.
Assist with maintaining the daily structure and flow of PHP and IOP programming.
Monitor client participation, engagement, behaviors, and progress during programming.
Provide appropriate support and redirection to clients during groups and program activities.
Assist with developing and improving group curriculum and programming.
Provide coverage and support across RWC programs as needed.
Clinical & Client Support
Provide individual and group counseling services within the scope of credential, education, training, and supervision requirements.
Assist with clinical assessments and treatment planning as appropriate.
Support individualized treatment goals and interventions developed by the treatment team.
Build strong therapeutic rapport with clients and encourage engagement in treatment.
Provide case management and coordinate appropriate community and ancillary resources.
Monitor client progress and communicate concerns or changes to the appropriate members of the treatment team.
Participate in crisis intervention and safety planning as appropriate.
Communicate safety concerns and complete mandated reporting as required.
Assist with discharge and aftercare planning as appropriate.
Documentation & Care Coordination
Complete group notes, progress notes, treatment plans, and other required clinical documentation accurately and within required timeframes.
Participate in weekly treatment team meetings and communicate relevant information regarding client participation, progress, barriers, and concerns.
Maintain communication with families, referral sources, outside providers, and other members of the treatment team as appropriate.
Assist with clinical reviews and utilization review/insurance authorization processes as appropriate.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in RWC’s electronic medical record.
Team & Professional Responsibilities
Participate in clinical supervision, staff meetings, training, and ongoing professional development.
Collaborate effectively with RWC’s multidisciplinary team.
Become cross-trained across RWC programs and provide support where needed.
Contribute to curriculum development, program development, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Behavioral Health, Human Services, or a related field.
Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC)
Experience working in mental health, behavioral health, or a related setting.
Experience or demonstrated ability to facilitate groups and engage clients in a structured treatment environment.
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
Preferred
Experience working with eating disorders, depression, anxiety, or other behavioral health conditions.
Experience working in PHP, IOP, residential, inpatient, or another higher level of care setting.
Experience facilitating therapeutic, psychoeducational, or skills-based groups.
Experience working with adolescents and/or adults.
Master’s degree or current enrollment in a master’s program in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field.
Experience working within an eating disorder treatment setting.
